The team at SumZero Energy was so helpful from start to finish. We knew our furnace and AC were on their last legs and got quotes from a number of local vendors. SumZero's prices were the most competitive and they also held our hands through the process of getting a MassSave loan to get a heat pump installed. On the day of installation, they worked fast and were finished in only 6-7 hours. They even took the trouble of going through our paint cans and finding matches for our walls to cover up any patching they had to do or to hide missing paint spots on the wall that were revealed when they put in new thermostats. They then took the time to show us how to use the new thermostats and help us install the apps on our phones. When the installation team left, we quickly realized they had accidentally knocked something off our water heater and it needed to be fixed. I quickly called the office and within minutes, the team was back and had set it to right. I was completely blown away by the customer service with this team and will very happily recommend them to anyone looking to replace their HVAC.

I’ll start off by simply saying my experience with SumZero Energy Systems could not have been better and surpassed all my expectations. My initial consultation with their energy consultant went well and totally inspired my confidence in their ability to get the job done. The price was fair, even a little less than other estimates I received. Paul, my SumZero energy consultant had four separate estimates delivered to me covering various configurations of the mini-split system to me within a day after our meeting. Paul explained the technical side of this technology to me very clearly and made it easy to understand. He also explained the advantages of using the Mass Save energy rebate program to lower installation costs upgrade insulation in my home. The savings through the Mass Save program is amazing. The actual installation of the mini-split system went off without out the slightest problem. The crew showed up promptly on time and got right to work. They were polite, efficient and obviously experts at this process. The were extremely conscientious about laying out taps in the house in their work areas and the the place spotless. They were a stellar crew! My wife and I could not be happier. Now that the warm weather is here I’m taking full advantage of the mini-split system. It’s whisper quiet, super efficient and looks great. The bonus is I don’t have to lug and install the bulky and heavy AC window units ever again. YAY! If the rating system is 1 through 10, with 10 being the best, I’d give SumZero an 11. Look no further, hire SumZero for you mini-split installation. You will not be disappointed.

I had previously written a one-star review for SumZero after I hired them to install two heat pumps and two gas furnaces in my home. I had multiple small issues with the install but ultimately posted negatively a few weeks later after I uncovered a gas leak coming from the furnace. I was incredibly surprised by the experience I had because I think my review was the only negative one for this company written by someone who actually had significant work done (out of hundreds of five-star reviews and happy customers). After detailing my experiences, David (the owner), reached out to me via phone on a Saturday (within 24 hours of my negative review) and did indeed make everything right, as he promised to in his reply below. After speaking with him, I truly think my experience was an anomaly and that he cares deeply about his customers. He assured me that he will be implementing tighter protocols to ensure that the experience I had will not be repeated in the future. I think everyone makes mistakes, and the fact this this company owned up to them and is always working to improve really speaks to their values. I’ll be recommending SumZero and will be using them to service my heat pumps and furnaces in the future.
